You do not have to use it yourself: through our own form we fill in the online application for you, so you don’t get stuck in the government portal, and we submit the application at the consulate.

How your Ghana visa application works

  1. Fill in our form and upload your documents.
  2. We complete the online application (GIS) for the consulate. You don’t have to do anything in the government portal.
  3. Send your passport and documents to us. Always send them by DHL Express. Please note for express: an express application cannot be delivered to the consulate by post, so make sure your passport reaches us in time.
  4. We submit the application at the Ghana consulate in The Hague.
  5. Visa ready: collect your passport from us by appointment, or we send it back to you.

A normal application takes about 1 week at the consulate; express is faster. We cannot guarantee exact processing times, so apply in good time.

What do you need for a Ghana visa?

  • Home and work address in the Netherlands. The consulate in The Hague only accepts applications from people who live in the Netherlands.
  • Passport (original), valid for at least 6 more months, with blank visa pages.
  • Passport photo: one recent colour photo.
  • Flight ticket: return booking in your name.
  • Invitation letter from Ghana, signed by 2 people, with a copy of the ID of both. Or: 1 person plus a hotel booking. The letter states the inviter’s Digital GhanaPost address, e-mail address and phone number.
  • Yellow fever certificate: copy of the yellow booklet with a valid stamp.

Business, internship and volunteer visas need extra documents (for example a guarantee letter). You will find them on the visa page and in our form.

You can start your application up to about two and a half months before departure. Don’t wait too long, so there is time if something needs to be added.

The rule is a maximum of 90 days within any 180 days. The tourist visa is valid for 3 months, with a maximum stay of 90 days. With a multiple-entry business visa, the maximum is 90 days per stay.

Yes. An express application cannot be delivered to the consulate by post. Make sure your passport reaches us in time; we then submit it in person. The express tourist visa costs €198.95.
