WP32 Work Permit Thailand

What is WP32?

The WP32 approval letter is a document issued by the Ministry of Labour of Thailand. It confirms authorization for a foreigner to apply for a work permit.

Who needs to apply for WP32?

The application must be submitted by the Thai employer. Foreign employees cannot apply for this document themselves.

Where is WP32 applied for?

Employers submit their application at the Department of Employment, a division of the Ministry of Labour.

Application Process

  • The employer submits an application to the Ministry of Labour.
  • The application is reviewed and approved.
  • The WP32 letter is issued.
  • The employee uses the WP32 letter to apply for a Non-Immigrant B visa.
  • After arriving in Thailand, the employee can obtain a work permit.

Exceptions

Citizens of Japan are exempt from the requirement to submit a WP32 document when applying for a Non-Immigrant B visa.

Conclusion

The WP32 document is a crucial step for foreign employees seeking a work permit in Thailand. Employers play a key role in the application process.

 

  • One color passport photo.
  • Note that these photos are according to the Dutch standard of ‘passport photo’, that is to say, looking forward, white background, do not laugh and do not show teeth.
  • Wearing glasses in the photo is not permitted
  • Nine times out of ten, the consulate does not accept a photo from your own printer. If you do so, make sure you use gloss paper and there are no stripes visible from the print.
  • Do not staple the photo to the application form, but rather use a Pritt stick. If you do not have a Pritt stick, please include your loose photo and we will attach it to the form for you.
  • Do not stick the photos with adhesive tape

Other conditions that you must pay extra attention to:

  • The photos may not be older than 3 months
  • The photos may not be the same as on the passport unless the passport is not older than 3 months
  • The photos must have a white background.

Option 1.)

From a school or university in the Netherlands

  • An in ‘English-language’ statement from the Dutch institution / school with an indication of the period, including full name, passport number and date of birth

Option 2.)

  • If you are not through a company or institution / school then you need an English personal statement about what you will do there. You must put all information in the letter.

Option 3.)

  • If you go to Thailand on the instructions of a company, you need a guarantee statement from the Dutch company, you need a letter of guarantee from the Dutch company, Click here for an example
  • An extract from the Chamber of Commerce (kvK) of the Dutch company, not older than 3 months.
  • A copy of the passport of the applicant
  • Note that you also need to provide the original passport as requested on this page
  • A bank statement with the credits and debts of the past three weeks with a visible deposit of your income.
  • It is not allowed to cross out transactions with a black marker, because the consulate literally wants to see all the credits and debits!
  • Your name must be on it.
  • Your balance must also be at least 600 euros plus for each month that you are going to stay in Thailand.
  • So 60 days = 1200 euros!
