The documents that are required for your visa

You must provide 4 copies of all the documents.

You will therefore have to submit 4 ‘packages’ with documents.

To obtain the visa, you must fill in the application form.

You must complete and sign the application form.

You must provide 4 copies of the application form.

  • Your passport.
  • We need to have the passport physically, so no copy.
  • Your passport must still be valid for at least 6½ months after the validity of the visa (ie one and a half year valid if it is an annual visa).
  • The passport must have at least two blank facing visa pages.
  • Four color passport photos.
  • Note that these photos are according to the Dutch standard of ‘passport photo’, that is to say, looking forward, white background, do not laugh and do not show teeth.
  • Wearing glasses in the photo is not permitted
  • Nine times out of ten, the consulate does not accept a photo from your own printer. If you do so, make sure you use gloss paper and there are no stripes visible from the print.
  • Do not staple the photo to the application form, but rather use a Pritt stick. If you do not have a Pritt stick, please include your loose photo and we will attach it to the form for you.
  • Do not stick the photos with adhesive tape

Other conditions that you must pay extra attention to:

  • The photos may not be older than 3 months
  • The photos may not be the same as on the passport unless the passport is not older than 3 months
  • The photos must have a white background.

An invitation letter from the inviting company/institute/religious group from Nigeria.

 

Together with the invitation, you will receive the company registration of the inviting company (of which possible).

 

The following points must be mentioned in the invitation letter;

  • Be written on company paper.
  • The letter must be written in English.
  • Include the applicant’s name and passport information.
  • Specify the reason for the trip.
  • State the activities.
  • Include the required duration of the visa.
  • Indicate the desired number of visits to Nigeria.
  • The manager/company leader must sign the letter and provide it with a company stamp.

Brief offer and acceptance of the work, known as the contract between both parties.

The letter/contract must be signed by both parties.

Relevant Expartriate Quota Position or Free Zone certificate

In order to employ a foreigner in Nigeria, such a company must have the appropriate expatriate quota approval.

Expatriate Quota is a form of approval granted to companies and registered companies to use the services of expats with relevant competencies.

Submit your relevant, obtained certificates and diplomas.

If the certificates and diplomas are in a language other than English, they must be translated by a sworn translator.

In addition, after translation, the documents must be legalized by the relevant authorities of the country where the diplomas were obtained.

You must provide 4 certified true copies of the certificates and diplomas.

Applicants traveling with their husband/wife must provide their marriage certificate.

  • If your minor child applies for the visa together with the parents (that is, a visa for the father, mother, and child) and the child has the same surname as the father or mother, you do not have to fill in a consent form.

  • If your minor child only applies for a visa or only with one of the parents (ie one of the parents does not apply for a visa), you must complete a consent letter from both parents and sign it by both parents.

If you are Dutch, you do not need additional documents.

2.)

For the EU or Schengen country nationalities:

If nationality comes from an EU or Schengen country (not for a Dutch passport), you must show that you are registered in the Netherlands.
You have two options;

  • Option 1: a copy of the front- and backside of your residence permit.
  • Option 2: a copy of the extract from the population register (GBA).

3.)

Other nationalities from outside the EU or Schengen countries:

  • You need a copy of your Dutch residence permit’s front- and back-side for all nationalities from outside the EU and Schengen countries.
