Processing days at the consulate:

Normal procedure: one and a half to two weeks (no guarantee, it may also only take a few weeks!)

Emergencies are possible: 1 week, if possible at the consulate (no guarantee, it can also only take a few weeks!)

On Tuesday and Friday we go to the consulate of Congo-Brazzaville in Brussels.
1. An application that goes to Brussels on Tuesday will be ready a week later Friday (but no guarantee!).
2. An application that goes to Brussels on Friday will be ready two weeks later on Friday (but no guarantee!).
Subject to both Congolese and Dutch national holidays.

Congolese and Dutch national holidays do not count as working days

Please note, the diplomat is authorized to request additional documents for your visa application, this may cause a delay in your visa application.

The documents that are required for your visa

  • Your passport.
  • We need to have the passport physically, so no copy.
  • Your passport must still be valid for at least 6½ months after the validity of the visa (ie one and a half year valid if it is an annual visa).
  • The passport must have at least two blank facing visa pages.
  • Two (2 x) color passport photos.
  • Note that these photos are according to the Dutch standard of ‘passport photo’, that is to say, looking forward, white background, do not laugh and do not show teeth.
  • Wearing glasses in the photo is not permitted
  • Nine times out of ten, the consulate does not accept a photo from your own printer. If you do so, make sure you use gloss paper and there are no stripes visible from the print.
  • Do not staple the photo to the application form, but rather use a Pritt stick. If you do not have a Pritt stick, please include your loose photo and we will attach it to the form for you.
  • Do not stick the photos with adhesive tape

Other conditions that you must pay extra attention to:

  • The photos may not be older than 3 months
  • The photos may not be the same as on the passport unless the passport is not older than 3 months
  • The photos must have a white background.
  • A booking confirmation of your flight (return ticket)
  • The consulate wants to see when you enter the country and go out again
  • It may be a booking for a flight, bus, train, boat
  • Your name must be mentioned on it
  • The consulate must recognize the confirmation as being that it comes from a travel agency or an airline.
  • A confirmation of a flight by a customer of your will not be accepted because the consulate will say that anyone can do this. Think of logos, photos or other features that an official confirmation of an airline by mail in general meets
  • Our advice, make sure you take out cancellation insurance when purchasing your flight. In the event that you do not receive your visa, you will not suffer any financial

For the visa application, you must be vaccinated against yellow fever. You must enclose a copy of the yellow booklet, within the valid stamp that you have been vaccinated against yellow fever.

Our advice: ask the GGD or your doctor whether further vaccinations are needed for this country. But for the visa application is the vaccination against yellow fever sufficient.

  • Everything you write on the order form will be on the invoice
  • S.v.p. enter your address in full, such as your street name, house number, zip code and city. We need the full address for the billing and return address
  • We need your e-mail address for when your visa application has been accepted by the consulate, we will send you an invoice by e-mail the same day. You must transfer the invoice to us on the same day with I-Deal or bank transfer so that we have the amount in our bank before we collect your visa passport at the consulate.
  • Your telephone number or numbers where we can always reach you in the event that your documents are incomplete or when the diplomat wants to view additional documents.

A letter of invitation from the applicant’s host. A copy is allowed. This letter must:

  • Include the full address and contact details of the host
  • Specify the purpose of stay, requested visa type, number of entries and length of visa required
  • Include an acceptance of financial responsibility for the applicant
  • Be signed by the applicant’s host
  • Must be stamped by the Direction de la Surveillance du Territoire (DST). Without this stamp the embassy will refuse the application

A guarantee letter from your/Dutch company. The letter must include the following points:

  • Addressed to the Embassy of Congo-Brazzaville in Brussels
  • The guarantee letter must be drawn up in English!
  • Name of the company.
  • The question with a request to issue a visa.
  • Details of the travelling person (name as in passport, date of birth, nationality, passport number and validity dates).
  • Position within the company and date of commencement of work.
  • Name the inviting company.
  • The reason for the trip.
  • The number of entries (single-multiple) with the dates of the entries and exits.Validity of the visa.
  • Name the places that are visited.
  • Guarantee for any costs that your company or the Company will reimburse in Congo-Brazzaville.
  • This letter must be signed by a manager or director.
  • This letter must be printed on the letterhead of your company or else with a stamp of your company.
